Its been a long time coming but the second season of Dynasty is due for release in June 2007. This has not yet been officially announced by the studio. SCTV alumnus Martin Short and '80s TV divas Joan Collins and Linda Evans popped into Toronto on Tuesday to help Mirvish Productions unveil its upcoming stage season.

The company will stage seven shows for its 2006-07 season, during which the Royal Alexandra Theatre will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Beginning in June, Short will premiere his autobiographical musical comedy Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me at the Canon Theatre before taking the show to Broadway. Monty Python's Spamalot, last year's best musical winner at the Tony Awards, will follow at the Canon with a summer run in July and August. Collins and Evans, immortalized in pop culture as the glamorous adversaries on the 1980s television series Dynasty, will tread the Royal Alex boards this fall in the comedy Legends. The production, by A Chorus Line creator James Kirkwood, centres on two waning, rival actresses who are forced to star in a Broadway show. After its Toronto run, Legends will embark on a U.S. national tour before landing on the Great White Way in spring 2007.
